On August 30 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan visited Armavir Marz with the chairs of the standing committees of the parliament, deputies elected from the marz. In terms of agriculture the year was more unfavourable especially for about 49 communities of the marz. The Head of the parliament accompanied by the Head of the marz Ashot Ghahramanyan met with the heads of the more suffered communities. In order to eliminate the consequences of hailing and compensate the damages incurred to the farmer assistance was rendered by the state. At the beginning of the meeting Ashot Ghahramanyan presented the support of the state, the list of the institutions, which had provided material assistance to the suffered farmers. And the National Assembly has its part in it. Two years ago an aid fund of those who suffered from hailing of Armavir Marz was created by the RA NA deputy Aleksan Petrosyan. The deputy presented the process of creation of the fund and documented with joy that Hovik Abrahamyan first responded to the presented proposal. The fund was created, and during the two months about 240mln drams was collected due to different institutions. The RA President, members of the government, deputies and others transferred money to the fund. In his speech the NA President underlined that the support to the agronomists who suffered because of hailing, was at the centre of attention of the President of the Republic. He added that in that issue the pledge of reaching success was only the unity, because as a result of solidarity and tolerance serious works are done. The Chairman of the Fund Aleksan Petrosyan noted that the collected 240mln drams will be equally delivered among about 6000 families of the rural communities of Armavir Marz. From tomorrow every municipality will begin to deliver the money to the farmers. The NA President informed those present that in September parliamentary hearings would be convened, and all concerned sides will take part in the discussions. Hovik Abrahamyan once again underlined that the state has done and will do its utmost to facilitate the farmers’ concern.
