On February 2 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received Bahrain-Armenia Friendship Group Delegation of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Welcoming the guests the RA NA President expressed conviction that their visit was a good opportunity for discussing the ways of development of relations between the two countries and touching upon the nowadays bilateral issues. Highlighting the development of the relations with the Arab countries, Hovik Abrahamyan noted that the Armenian-Bahraini cooperation had a considerable potential. The Head of the parliament deemed necessary the development of the inter-parliamentary cooperation and documented with satisfaction that friendship groups had been formed in two parliaments. Hovik Abrahamyan considered important to activate the efforts from both sides in developing mutually beneficial economic cooperation. To his conviction, there are good preconditions for the development of relations in the spheres of education, culture and tourism, which will have a positive impact on the enlargement and reinforcement of bilateral relations.
Thanking for the warm reception Hassan Eyad Bu Khamas, Head of the Bahraini Parliamentary Delegation, noted that Bahrain highly appreciated the development of relations and expressed conviction that their visit would promote the deepening of cooperation, the bilateral contacts and mutual visits. Hassan Eyad Bu Khamas also deemed necessary the activation of economic cooperation. The Head of the Delegation conveyed to the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan the warm greetings of the President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the invitation of the official visit to Bahrain.
In the course of the meeting the sides discussed regional problems, emphasizing the peace and stability in the region, as well as other issues of bilateral interest.
