The RA NA Galust Sahakyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Mother Language Day.
“Dear compatriots, I congratulate you on the occasion of Mother Language Day.
This holiday officially has a history of 10 years; however, it comprises the chronology of our history and the asynchronous history, the borders of our memory and the unlimited imagination.
Our language is our national pride and the guarantee of security. It is not a language of animosity. In different periods of history we have been inspired, defended by it and fought against the enemy, won by it and for the sake of it. Today, it is one of our powerful trumps with its uniqueness, peculiarity and created moral value system.
We should not only be proud of it, but should be responsible for the mother language individually and together, in the family and at school, at work and in the street the way we should for a relative, the land and Motherland. The opposite is the threat of the loss of all that. At the same time, we should be able to use the language for the creation of an atmosphere of public solidarity and tolerance, an environment promoting the development of the country and conditions for the state’s progress.
On the occasion of Mother Language Day I especially congratulate the pedagogues teaching and disseminating love and affection towards the language in the kindergartens and schools, who have assumed historical, personal, and public responsibility for the present and future with their bright mission.
As a greeting of congratulations to each other on the occasion of this day and as a behest coming from our ancestors let us love, preserve and worship our mother language,” the RA NA President’s congratulatory message reads.
