I congratulate all the representatives of the local self-government bodies on the occasion of Local Self-Government Day being celebrated today in Armenia.

The local self-government bodies are the most important part of the government system, those directly realizing the state policy in the spots know very well the problems of the community, they are the first to get informed and they inform the others about them, they are the first to launch their possible solutions.

The local self-government bodies have complicated and honourable mission: to be the direct linking circle between the citizen and the state. This system has proved its viability and need, assuming special responsibility for the destinies of the communities and general progress of the country. I am sure that from now on, during the past 16 years of its activity, the local self-government bodies will confidently continue to carry out their mission for more welfare society, for stronger community and state.

I once again congratulate all the representatives of the local self-government bodies and wish them success, welfare and resoluteness in their hard, honourable and responsible work.
